Issue #2
This is only the second issue of our online magazine, but already it feels like it's our 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000th issue. Anyway, There will be loads more news and info for you to get your teeth into !
News
A while ago, an official GTS website was created, but it isn't even worth a look, because it doesn't help you find the pokemon you are looking for, it just tells you which are the most popular pokemon in each country.
At the moment, America and Japan are having all of the fun, Manaphy events, Darkrai, Arceus and Shaymin are just a few of the brilliant event pokemon they get. If we can at least get Spacial-Rending Darkrai we won't be so annoyed. Maybe.
There are only 5 days left until Pokemon Crater shuts down, so if you want to make it to the top trainers list, you'll have to hurry !
The Diamond and Pearl pokemon card expansion pack was released in USA 20 days ago and it has amazing cards like Raikou with Thunder Climb, Charizard with Blast Burn, Lugia with Psychic Destruction and Electivire and Magmortar with Discharge and Fireball Bazooka respectively. They are coming out in the UK on December 3rd.
MOTW (Move of the Week)
Dark Pulse
Pokemon Crater
I'm afraid that this will be the first and last move of the week for Pokemon Crater, but at least it will be a good one !
Dark Pulse used to do MASSES of damage on Darkrai, especially Dark Darkrai, on a normal one it does 234 damage ! Well, it used to. Now, it only does 195 (and it will for another 5 days until the crater closes. Dark Pulse also covers a wide variety of types.
Pokemon Diamond
On Pokemon Diamond, in my opinion, Dark Pulse is just and alternative to Sucker Punch, and the one you use depends: 1.) on which one your pokemon learns or if that does not apply then; 2.) what pokemon your opponent is using.
POTW (That is Pokemon of the Week if you haven't read the first article)
Lugia
Why we didn't choose Lugia for the first POTW, I still don't know, but the peaceful psychic/flying type that knows some water type moves is finally here. Lugia is an amazing pokemon on the Nintendo games, it has some of the best stats in the game and some great moves as well. On Pokemon Crater, (which is shutting down, though I've probably told you that about 3 or 4 times before all over the site)it is one of the worst legendaries, but, compared to a lot of other pokemon, it is still good.
Pokemon Crater
Moveset
Hidden Power
Overheat
Water Spout
Acid Armor/Dark Pulse
Hidden Power is obviusly there because it is a strong move and it is the same type as Lugia, all the rest are just strong moves. I'm afraid that that is all there is to say about our namesake on the Crater side of things.
Pokemon Diamond
Moveset
Substitute
Recover
Calm Mind
Psychic/Aeroblast
EVs
252 HP
252 Defence
6 Special Defence
Lugia is an amazingly hard pokemon to beat and you will need luck or, unless Lugia carries Rain dance and water type moves, Tyranitar or Groudon who are likely to carry rock type attacks. Tyranitar is probably a better choice because it has taunt and gets the same-type bonus on it's super-effective moves, but if you can pass some speed on to it is much better. Lugia has amazing special defence and great defence, but you should focus on the latter because it is weaker. Statuses are also useful, but ones that can immobilise Lugia completely are best. (eg. Spore or Sleep Powder)
There are now 3 days to go today until Pokemon Crater shuts down (at the time of writing)
